Hi guys,

I wondered if any of you would be able to offer me some advice.  I have damaged the final drive assembly, "forgot to take of the anti-theft chain locked around the rear wheel.  The consequences seem grim.  What part do I require replacing as the sensor mounting area is "cast metal.  The abs and tcs warning lights are on, too.  Perhaps the wires were stretched?

Rgds,

Welcome to the board Smile

That's going to be expensive  Sad

The part you need is 41321-MY3-780 COVER,GEAR CASE If you ordered it new you're looking at something about  £173.51p

If you have done more damage than just to the cover then you may have problems as it doesn't look like you can buy a new, complete, final drive assembly for an ABS bike, if you could get one you're looking at £1200 plus Shocked

These do appear on ebay now and then but given its from an ABS bike they get snapped up pretty quickly.

As for the ABS sensor:

38510-MAJ-781 SENSOR WHEEL SP!. 1
90010-MJ6-000 BOLT, FLANGE SOCKET, 2 6x16
57451-MY3-780 SHIM,SENSOR,WHE!L 1
16106-KW7-900 CLIP B,TUBE    ! 1

If any of the cables have been stretched/damaged I suspect you may need to engage someone who knows more about that than I do Wink

hi panflier
wow that's a clean bike
the light are on because the censer isn't getting its signals when the wheel rotates its probably OK when  back in place, to check it you will need a multi meter and the expected readings normally found in the workshop manual,
a easy option is to secure it back in position (as close to the original position as you can )with tap and take it around the block your lights should go out ( NOT A PERMANENT FIX)
If all is OK remove the cover and take it to a metal fabricator they should be able to tig weld it back, its going to burn the paint but it will be cheaper than a new cover
hope it helps

Many thanks, ordered new part and arranging to have it assembled.  The sensor looks OK, as it hasn't been knocked about. 🙂

Thanks Sam,

Managed to find the part, its less of a drama than I first thought, still an expensive mistake though.
